Job Summary Works together with Project Cost Manager and construction team in maintaining control of all financial and contracted aspects of the project. Creates, researches and interprets moderately complex reports. Supervises compliance, payment and reviews documentation for contractor/ subcontractor contracts. Compiles financial information, processes journal entries into various accounts, and reconciles reports and financial data. Is familiar with, and has an awareness of the laws, regulations and taxes that apply to construction. Possesses knowledge of Actus Lend Lease’s accounting systems.
Responsibilities The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities and skills required of personnel so classified.
• Assists the Project Cost Manager in accurate forecasting and reporting of project financial performance.
• In conjunction with project management, ensures that project data is accurate and reliable for financial analysis, forecasting, trending, and results analysis.
• Uses various software applications, such as spreadsheets, databases, and J.D. Edwards to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.
• Complete understanding of accounting program to ensure commitments, budget revisions, change orders and journal entries are entered accordingly.
• Responsible for maintaining up to date cost figures and contract change orders issued for each project component.
• Ensure invoices and subcontractor pay requests, seeks for approval, contract commitments, review documents and enter payments to be processed in JDE.
• Work closely with project cost manager, project admin, certified payroll and contract administrator.
• On a regular and continuous basis, exercises administrative judgment and assumes responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results having an impact on people, costs, and/or quality of work.
• Ad hoc projects when necessary.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with Actus processes, procedures and limits of Authority as they apply to cost control and procurement.
• Establish relationships with key suppliers/subcontractors in order to obtain the best financial/contractual arrangements.
• Assist in account finalization of subcontract and client contracts.
• Assist in the packaging of documentation to justify costs for modifications, component estimates and claims to the client.
• Assist in the preparation of Client contract modifications and subcontractor change orders to maximize project profitability.
• Assist in the Preparation Client progress claim (including JDE allocation), manage client submission and liaise with client to ensure timely payment.
• Assist in developing a Procurement Schedule to make sure companies are appointed in good time to carry out design, manufacture and delivery of the works.
• Assist in the preparation of periodic project cost reports and project review reports that detail the current project status, open issues, risks and opportunities and forecast the final cost and profit.
• Structure and complete all JDE budget upload and adjustment forms (original, component estimate, budget transfer and client modification).
Minimum Requirements • Bachelor's degree in construction, accounting, engineering, business, or related field .
• Five years progressively responsible related experience required. Additional education or certification may be substituted for some experience.
• Property or Construction Industry experience highly desirable.
• Advanced knowledge in the use of financial software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing required. J.D. Edwards is desirable.
• Supervisory/ Managerial experience preferred.
